In my opinion ‘retirement’ is a serious business.  Whether you are still working and want to retire with an income or if you are already retired and want to maximize your precious retirement funds it’s your retirement and you want to achieve the best possible results.

Yes, it’s serious but it does not have to be complicated. It does not have to include risk. And it does not have to include anxiety and sleepless nights.

In fact, retirement planning for business owners and persons still employed can be, and should be safe, and should produce positive, productive results. It should not depend on the possibility that the stock market will go down and jeopardize your savings, investments and retirement income.

To many people had to delay or totally cancel their retirement plans in 2000 when the stock market plunged 20 percent. In 2008 many of those people’s retirement investment were still not back to their 2000 level and the market went down again, this time by approximately 39 percent.

Sleepless nights, anxiety, thoughts of working into your 70’s, or possibly never retiring should not be an option. You probably have worked hard for the majority of your life.  Shouldn’t you be able to have comfort in knowing that you have a solid, productive retirement plan that will afford you the opportunity to enjoy your retirement?

Getting old is not for the faint of heart. You don’t need to compliment that with financial woes. Yes, retirement is a serious business.
